So, you’re struggling to prove your worth to brands.

You’ve worked hard to create a cohesive feed, curating and hashtagging appropriately, engaging, etc, but you still feel like there’s something missing. I got you, friend. 

Without further ado, let’s dive into my top 2 tips + action items you can apply to solve this problem!

Establish a USP ⁣

A USP stands for “unique selling proposition” and it’s a term used often in marketing to describe a characteristic or feature that makes a product, service, or in this case – person, stand out above the sea of other related options. ⁣⁣

There’s a major misconception that the “influencer industry” is “too saturated.” But the reality is that there is PLENTY of room at the table for you. Heck, you even have a seat there with YOUR name on it.⁣

All YOU need to do is take a seat, look around, and realize that even though they may be doing the EXACT same thing you are – NO ONE sitting around you, IS you.⁣

Some of my USP’s are that I’m great at hosting events. I love public speaking. I know how to create unique content that truly resonates with my audience. ⁣⁣

I may not have 359672035 followers. I don’t get thousands of likes per post. I don’t do simple captions with a brand shoutout. ⁣⁣

But I have several USP’s that make me stand out! BEYOND the typical “numbers” game. ⁣

ACTION: Think about what doesn’t make you a “cookie cutter” and begin to visualize how you can leverage those things to your advantage! ⁣

A good way to flesh this out is to ask your friends and family what kind of advice they would approach you for! OR brain-dumping all your ideas and setting aside intentional time to work through them with a trusted friend (or coach 😉).

Highlight your BEST analytics⁣

Instead of focusing on what you DON’T have, focus on what you do. ⁣⁣

If you don’t have a ton of followers, but you have really high engagement – mention that!⁣

If you don’t have crazy amazing engagement, but the brand is local and 90% of YOUR audience is local – mention that!⁣⁣

None of the, “I know I ONLY have 1,000 followers, BUT I would LOVE to work with you.” You literally just shot yourself in the foot by saying that because you’re ALREADY diminishing your value.⁣

ACTION: Brands WILL ask for analytics, so be proactive about having a good answer to the question by knowing what numbers to leverage in order to give you the best clout in their eyes. ⁣⁣
