You know, it’s funny how when a whole lot of things fall apart, a bunch of brand new pieces fall together.
Wow, that started out super deep and poetic, hahahaha! Let me give you some background first.
Since the beginning of this year I had been trying to plan a Galentine’s Day party. I really wanted to get a group of girls together for night of food (holler) and networking with other amazing local ladies. During the process of this planning though, I kept getting “no’s” from all the venues that I was reaching out to. No one was willing to work with me.
So, while at the gym one morning I started to think about how a bunch of my friends rented out a mansion for New Year’s Eve. I began to brainstorm what it would look like to do that for a Galentine’s event. I polled my audience to see if it would even be something they were interested in., and as the results began to flood in, it was clear that a ton of girls were.
Thus began the actual planning! I found a house out in Siesta Key pretty quickly, but there was one huge issue. I needed to book it within 72 hours in order to have it for the dates I wanted it. That meant I needed all 24 girls to pay me within 48 hours so I could transfer their payments to my bank and be able to afford the house. Haha, whew.
Jesus is a God of MIRACLES though and in less than 48 hours I’d secured all the spots. #praises
As you all know, this event happened last weekend, and if I’m being honest.. it was my favorite one I’ve ever hosted. There’s just something about having a smaller group of gals together for a whole night and coming to learn how vastly different, yet alike, everyone is.
Seeing women break out of their shell (i.e. a girl singing in front of the whole group, gals conquering social anxiety by speaking to everyone, ladies sharing vulnerable details of their lives) was so liberating not only for everyone else to witness and be apart of, but for me as well. I won’t lie, I definitely got teary eyed many moments during the weekend from the sheer gratitude that this is what I get to do for a living. I just felt like a proud mom, you know?! *cure more tears*
Anywho- I’ll share more sappy details later, but in the meantime here is a little peek into last weekend’s adventures and the mansion we got to stay at! I was so busy running around that day that I totally forgot to take more pictures, but being present was definitely worth it, haha!
NEXT EVENT: Last, but not least, I am in the process of planning the next Gal Getaway, but my next event is March 8th at In Bloom Florist in Orlando from 6-8pm! Seats are limited, but you can grab yours through my “events” page! Would love to see you there!
